About Growth Calculus

Growth Calculus is a different kind of investment firm. We infuse growth capital and hands-on consulting expertise to catapult growth and achieve new levels of valuation. The founders are successful business operators and consultants who know how to help entrepreneurs overcome challenges that impede growth.

We’re growing our team of consultants to work with our Service Evolution Fund portfolio companies to plan and execute growth strategies for accelerated results. These privately held companies are not startups – they have been successfully operating for years with revenues up to $30MM. They are specialized marketing services companies in the U.S. or Canada with an opportunity to productize internal/external capabilities leveraging data, analytics and/or technology for greater scale and growth trajectories. About the role & opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Financial Analyst to help build our private equity firm as we complete the capital raise and are actively evaluating investments. This is also an opportunity to have more diverse responsibilities than typically offered with investment companies given our model of fusing consulting expertise with growth capitals to transform portfolio company value and growth. In this role, you get to help evaluate potential investments as well as to support portfolio companies through growth plans/models and subsequent capital raises. You’ll work directly with the managing partners and operate in some of the most dynamic and fast-growing sectors of the marketing ecosystem.

As an early member of the team, the Financial Analyst will be a critical member of each stage of the investment process, including deal sourcing, financial modeling, due diligence, transaction execution, portfolio monitoring…and on occasion, assisting with aspects of the ongoing consulting to our portfolio companies. Here are some of the aspects involved:

  • Conduct research to source and screen deals – e.g., researching industry sub-sectors to identify possible investment targets, using 3rd party data to conduct initial screens on company leads, etc.
  • Conduct due diligence on prospective portfolio companies with a rigorous and comprehensive approach
  • Develop and maintain dynamic financial models
  • Help with valuation of potential portfolio companies as well as transaction execution
  • Synthesize findings into investment committee presentation materials
  • Work with our Growth Calculus consultants and portfolio company CFOs/team members to size market opportunities and costs; build financial models for growth plans for portfolio companies
  • Help portfolio companies consider scenarios of alternative capital structures to support growth plans
  • Assist in packaging materials for secondary capital raises amongst our investor network after we’ve defined and sized growth plans for each portfolio company
  • Provide periodic review reports of existing portfolio companies to our investors
  • Support managing partners with other financial analysis/reporting as needed
